  		Dear Admin/Webmaster,

As I explore the respective forums in AB, I find that valuable information from different forums and threads can be consolidated in one place to enable easier access/reference by members. 

For example: 

#1. Members List (Centennial, Diamond/Platinum/Flashing Gold/Gold) (Data available in different forums but normal members can't see the list in DPGSB. Should we also have admin/mod list too?)

#2. Promotion date for Gold Members & above (Good reference started in 2012, any way to trace earlier?)

#3. Info pertaining to AB History / Improvements (e.g. recently a member posted a screenshot of AB in 2002)

#4. Info on gatherings / projects / news (to serve as a reference for our failing memory as time goes by)

#5. Guidelines for new members = rules & regulation

#6. Guidelines on 'how to's for new & old members 

#7. Interesting threads posted by members (admins can decide which threads have highly entertainment/informational values to 'EARN' a place) - but may not last AB lifetime, depending on space.

HOW TO?
Either create a brand NEW forum named AB ARCHIVE & LIBRARY
OR tweak an existing forum to rename it. e.g. - Test Post - forum
(Library is a place for sharing, learning and doing research. Testing posts are like experimenting but need not keep for a long time.)

Just my 2 cents sharing for the continuous betterment of AB. Thanks for your kind consideration.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

There are some key differences between a library and an archive. 

A library collects and provides access to published materials in order to keep people informed and provide entertainment. 

An archive collects and provides access to unpublished materials in order to ensure accountability and to preserve institutional and cultural memory.

See the chart below for an overview of these differences.

Library Archive
Published materials Unpublished materials
e.g. books, periodicals e.g. records, letters, diaries, posters
Browse and retrieve materials yourself Request materials from staff
Individual items Collections of materials
Items with covers Boxes and folders
Organized by subject and genre Organized by creator
(facilitates browsing) (keeps materials in context)

Using SOME of the above criteria as a reference, we can develop one that is applicable and feasible for AB users.

Another idea that I was thinking, whenever we provide a link to a particular thread for admin's attention: 

e.g. http://forums.asianbookie.com/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=40&Topic=2668776

instead of copy and paste to URL, is there a possibility of making it a direct link (clickable) to ease the job? I'm referring to internal threads in AB and not from external source as I understand that there's a possibility of virus attack from unknown sources. Thank you.

p/s: The issue pertaining to posting of Old Master Q Comics is still pending as I can't post 3x2 (6 pictures), as the top part won't show.
