quote originally posted by JJMyHoney: The current system benefits those teams with more active participants. For instance, Simple Miracle Win team currently have 182 ACTIVE participants, the system grants them 182 x 1,000,000 = 182,000,000 ab$. Asianbookie Vietnam team only have 89 ACTIVE participants, so the system grants 89 x 1,000,000 = 89,000,000 ab$, which is less than half of Simple Miracle Simple Win team's grant! In other word, competition not yet started, Asianbookie Vietnam team already trail them by 93,000,000, and is equivalent to 93 thunder bets! Those members who understand how the system works, they could just join the competition and bet for JUST ONCE to get the 1,000,000 grant and he/she can go missing in action, cos he/she already helps the team to earn 1,000,000 ab$. I would like to suggest every team will start from 0ab$ or certain amount of ab$ regardless of number of active participants involved. All active participants in that team, whether win or lose in that day, will add their winning or deduct their loss to/from that team ab$, their basic starting 1,000,000 ab$ will not add into this team ab$. In this way, members with get to see which team is the best in REALITY! Some team could have only one member or two, to prevent this competition become team vs person competition, before competition commences, each team must have at least 10 to 20 active participants in order to qualify for the competition. Once competition starts, no more teams are accepted. This suggestion can prevent members from abuse by simply kicking the lower members out of the team to bring up the average. In fact, i am very keen to know, will any teams get positive result by the end of every competition, i am in doubt. Personally think its time for a change in team competition, cos it does not reflect the reality. This message was edited by JJMyHoney on 31-Aug-2015 @ 1:53 PM |
Your first paragraph is actually wrong as the team balance only considers the top 50 members of each team even if you have 200 members, only the top 50 will be considered. The original idea is to attract more teams with at least 50 members so that they can compete in an equal scale (like the current top 5 teams), it worked partly but we are seeing more and more people join these top 5 teams it becomes hard for the smaller teams to reach 50 members unless they are active in recruiting. I like your idea alot but it still needs some refining. You are right that even if the leader kicks out the lower members, the nett balance is already calculated and it won't be any benefit for the leader to kick him out as every member as a random 50/50 chance to pick the winning bets in upcoming games. And also even if a member jumps to another team it won't matter as his nett winnings/losses have already been atrributed to his previous team. It may be open to sabotage though as a member can simply cancel his bets repeatedly to make more losses for himself (10% cancellation penalty). Or worse, the member jumps to another team when he knows he has huge pending losses still awaiting settlement, thereby attributing the losses to the team he jumps to and after settlement he jumps back to his original team. We are also reluctant to prevent small teams from joining when the competition starts. There will definately be teams with positive balance as you just have to minus AB$50,000,000 from each of the top 5 teams to get a general idea. If we can sort this out, perhaps we will give it a beta try in the next season
