Man in his 50s forced Primary 1 girl to take his bread at Sophia Rd, asked her to follow him home for more Say no to strangers bearing carbs. A Primary One girl attending St Margaret's School (Primary) in the Selegie area was allegedly approached by a man in his 40s or 50s, made to take a piece of bread, and asked to visit his home for more. The parents of the girl have since filed a police report, Stomp reported. Was walking along Sophia Road The mother told the portal about the Aug. 18 encounter. The stranger had offered her daughter food at Sophia Road, a one-way road that loops around the school and leads to Wilkie Road. The girl was walking to The Cathay's Sophia Road entrance after school where her mother was waiting to pick her up from there. The route is about a five to six-minute walk. Forced bread on girl The middle-aged man allegedly offered bread to the girl and invited her to his home. The mother said: "He even told her she could go to his place as he had more bread to give." The girl rejected his offer but he "chased after her", the mother said. He then stuffed the bread into the side pocket of her bag. The girl managed to reach her mother and showed her the bread she was given and recounted what happened. The parents threw the bread away. The girl's father made a police report, which the police confirmed with Stomp had been lodged. "The school is located right behind the Istana and surrounded by expensive houses and yet this happened," the mother said. "This is just too scary." Top photo via Google Maps
